CHENNAI: St Joseph’s Trichy beat PSMO College, Kerala, 4-2 via tie-breaker in the semifinals of the Rev Fr LD Murphy Memorial football tournament organised by Loyola College. The hosts beat St Joseph’s College of Commerce Bangalore 2-1 in the other semifinal.

Semifinals: Loyola Chennai 2 bt St Joseph’s College of Commerce Bangalore 1; St Joseph’s Trichy 4 bt PSMO Kerala 2.

K Venkatesa Prabhakaran’s 99 helped Social Cricket Club beat Comrades Cricket Club in a fourth division B Zone league of the TNCA.

Karampal Jangra’s 5 for 43 ensured a thrilling seven-run win for Thiruthani CC over Aththis CC in a second division match of the TNCA- Thiruvallur DCA League. P Dinesh Kumar lent good support, taking 4 for 33. U Gunaseelan of Aththis CC had taken 6 for 46, which went in vain.
