CHENNAI: Karaikudi Kaalai beat Dindigul Dragons by seven runs at ICL Grounds in Tirunelveli on Monday. Posting a target of 150/7, Karaikudi’s opener Vishal Vaidya shared the vital partnerships of 34 and 31 with Srinivasan and skipper Badrinath, respectively, after the early exit of Rajkumar R. Vishal top-scored with 41.

Vishal top-scored with 41. In response, Dindigul made a brisk 34 runs in 4 overs and was 51/2 in 6.3 overs. After which the match looked one sided with wickets falling regularly forDindigul.

Opening batsman Ganga Sridhar Raju who hit 16 off 10 balls, took 24 deliveriesto score his next 11 runs. Lower-order batsmen Vivek R and Kishan Kuamr’s partnership of 48 went in vain as the team fell short by mere seven runs. Mohan Prasath took four wickets.

With 16 runs to win from last over, Kishan Kumar took one of the first ball and the very next delivery went for six from Aditya Arun. Mohan Prasath who was bowling the final over bounced back with three wickets from the last four deliveries to produce third victory for Karaikudi Kaalai in the tournament and are placed third in the table.
