U-19 star Radhakrishnan in senior mix with Dravid pat

Radhakrishnan impressed in the last U-19 one-dayer between India and England, where his knock of 65 earned praise from Rahul Dravid.

CHENNAI: Youngsters who did well in U-19 zonal and national meets have been named among probables for the Tamil Nadu team that will feature in the Vijay Hazare Trophy in Cuttack from February 25 to March 6. The players will attend a camp before leaving for the tournament, and S Radhakrishnan is one among those.

Radhakrishnan impressed in the last U-19 one-dayer between India and England, where his knock of 65 earned praise from Rahul Dravid. “It was pleasant surprise. I never expected to be named. I guess my good show in the Cooch Behar Trophy and with India U-19 helped me find a spot,” said Radhakrishnan.

The 17-year old from Coimbatore cherished his interaction with the India legend. “After my 65, Dravid sir called me and praised my game. He said I played stylishly, and told me that I should have continued and tried to go for a century,” recalled the Globe Trotters regular.
