CHENNAI:  CH Jhansi Lakshmi’s six-for and N Anusha’s unbeaten ton helped Andhra beat Tamil Nadu in the BCCI U-23 South Zone women’s one-day league. For Tamil Nadu, skipper D Hemalatha and L Nethra raised 123 runs for the second wicket.


Brief scores: Tamil Nadu 192/7 in 50 ovs (D Hemalatha 76, L Nethra 61; CH Jhansi Lakshmi 6/37) lost to Andhra 195/3 in 45.2 ovs (N Anusha 102  n.o). Points: Andhra 4 (16); TNCA 0 (12).

Santhosh Bharathi’s 5/36 was the feature of Sir Theagaraya Recreation Club’s one-wicket win over Swaraj CC in a TNCA Second Division A Zone match.

C Kubendran’s dream spell of 7 for 13 was the highlight of Apollo Tyres’ eight-wicket win over Delphi TVS  in the limited overs tournament for the Lucas TVS-Tiruvallur DCA Trophy.

Judo champ
K Pramoth of St Joseph’s College of Engineering emerged champion in the 100kg category in judo at the State games for Chief Minister’s Trophy organised by SDAT. He received `1 lakh as cash prize.
