CHENNAI: S Radhakrishnan of Globe Trotters, who did well in the India U-19 limited-over games against England, is the surprise pick in Tamil Nadu’s squad for the Vijay Hazare one-day tourney Group B league in Cuttack from February 25 to March 6. Vijay Shankar has been named skipper of the 16-man squad.

Hari shines in U-25 game
C Hari Nishaanth (45) helped Tamil Nadu beat Kerala in a South Zone U-25 match for the PS Ram Mohan Trophy.


Brief scores: Kerala 179 in 48.1 ovs (Kiran Akash 3-37, Shahrukh Khan 3-28) lost to Tamil Nadu 183/6 in 46.2 ovs.


Soumik bags crown
Soumik De Sarkar of Kolkata beat Pankaj Kadoo of Mumbai 11-3, 11-4, 11-5, 11-6 to retain the men’s singles crown at the Major Ports Sports Control Board table tennis event at the JN Stadium here. P Raveendran, IRTS chairman, Chennai Port Trust, distributed the prizes.
