ISL fans moved by Nigerian footballer Dudu Omagbemi singing Indian national anthem

In a recent ISL match held between Chennaiyin FC and Mumbai City FC, the fans witnessed one of the best moments on the football pitch.

CHENNAI: In a recent match of Indian Super League held between Chennaiyin FC and Mumbai City FC at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Chennai the fans witnessed one of the best moments on the football pitch. Before the start of each match the Indian national anthem is played after the players from both the teams lineup on to the football pitch. 

Nigerian footballer Dudu Omagbemi representing the Chennaiyin FC's was seen singing the Indian national anthem during the lineup which got a thunderous reception from the fans who were astonished by the Nigerians love for the India.  

  

31-year-old Dudu Omagbemi has been an integral part of Indian football, playing for the I-League and ISL clubs for nearly one and half decades. The explosive striker set foot on the Indian soil for the first time when he was just 15. He joined the Goan side Sporting Clube de Goa in 2000.

He has also played for many top I-League clubs with the likes of East Bengal FC, Salgaocar and has also been a part of ISL sides FC Pune City and FC Goa. Dudu Omagbemi in many of his interviews has always mentioned India as his second home and his performance and action has just proved his claim.  

The ISL which kicked-off last moth has been getting a rousing response from all over the world with the immense on-field action. Presence of international stars like Diego Forlan, Lucio, Helder Postiga and John Arne Riise has bought worldwide attention to the league. 

The league so far has been a keenly contested one where there is not much difference between the teams in the points table. Still more than a month of action left in the ISL this season, the fans are set to enjoy more action as the league progresses.
