Rajasthan Cricket Association Offers to Host IPL Matches

Though BCCI officials indicated they were not considering Sawai Mansingh Stadium as an alternative.

NEW DELHI: Even though they are suspended, Rajasthan Cricket Association has written to the BCCI showing willingness to conduct IPL matches.

“We’ve written to the board assuring full support. In this time of crisis, we’re ready to provide support,” RCA deputy president Mehmood Abdi told Express.

Though BCCI officials indicated they were not considering Sawai Mansingh Stadium as an alternative, RCA officials are upbeat. “Our ban has no effect on the availability of the ground. The board has hosted Ranji Trophy games here.”

Sources claim the BCCI is working on plans to shift matches to Delhi, Kolkata and Bengaluru. “Being existing venues, there won’t be any logistical problems,” a top BCCI official said, hinting that Mohali is also an option. Buzz is Eden Gardens or Feroz Shah Kotla may host the final.
