CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu all-rounder V Yo Mahesh’s valuable knock of 89 helped Grand Slam bag the TNCA Senior Division League Elite Group title on Sunday. In the drawn final versus Globe Trotters at SSN College ground, Grand Slam were awarded the crown on the basis of first innings lead. It was Grand Slam’s first Senior Division league title in a decade. Globe Trotters 293 drew with Grand Slam 373/9 decl (V Yo  Mahesh 89).

Kerala Police win trophy

Kerala Police won the women’s title for the SNJ Trophy by defeating Tamil Nadu Youth 3-1 in the final of the P John Memorial 45th all-India volleyball tournament at Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium. They were awarded `75,000. Tamil Nadu Youth bagged the YMCA Madras Trophy and `50,000.
Women’s final: Kerala Police bt TN Youth 17-25, 25-16, 25-13, 25-20. Men’s semifinals: SRM bt K’taka 25-19, 28-26, 30-28; TN Police bt ICF 27-25, 22-25, 26-24, 25-22.
