HYDERABAD: Crucial issues, including micro finance institutions (MFIs) employing unethical methods for realisation of loans and charging higher rates of interest, crop damage due to heavy rains and implementation of welfare schemes, will come up for discussion during the two-day Collectors’ Conference to be held on November 26 and 27 at Jubilee Hall, Public Gardens here.
Chief minister K Rosaiah will deliver the inaugural address.
Addressing a press conference here today, revenue minister Dharmana Prasada Rao said the conference would deliberate on the functioning of MFIs, especially after the promulgation of the GO regulating their operations.
On the first day, relief measures taken up after the cyclones, agriculture plan for rabi season, implementation of Unique Identification Number, civil supplies, procurement of agriculture produce at the Minimum support Price and 20-Point Economic Programme will come up for discussion. On the second day, the chief minister will have discussions with collectors and police chiefs from districts and commissionerates on the prevailing law and order situation, including road safety.
