HYDERABAD: The BJP’s state committee has taken strong objection to TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao’s description of the BJP as a ‘’new beggar’’ in Telangana.

The TRS’ leadership owed an explanation to the people of Telangana why it was targeting the BJP which was fighting for Telangana statehood in and out of the Assembly and Parliament, BJP spokesman NVSS Prabhakar  told reporters here on Saturday.

“It is strange that the TRS failed to criticise the Congress and the TDP at its 11th anniversary meeting at Vikarabad on Friday. Nor did it ask the YSR Congress, which is likely to contest the Parkal bypoll, to spell out its stand on Telangana. It is strange that the TRS has trained its guns on BJP which has been demanding state’s bifurcation,’’ Prabhakar said.

After Parakal byelection, the TRS would have no option but to take voluntary retirement, he said.
