Dharmana set to move HC

Resigned minister Dharmana Prasada Rao is reportedly consulting lawyers to prepare a line of defence against his inclusion in the CBI chargesheet, in the High Court, which he plans to approach in his individual capacity. The minister on Thursday met with his supporters, which include various ministers.

After the meeting, Mankiya Varaprasad told Express that Dharmana took a bold step by resigning and that step has served to improve the image of the Congress. “We are all behind him,” he said. After the meeting with Dharmana, Jana Reddy spent some time with the minister’s supporters and praised his “gentlemanly nature”. “Sometimes when two people fight on the road, a passerby may get hurt. Such is Dharmana’s case,” he said.

Revenue minister N Raghuveera Reddy and tourism minister Vatti Vasanth Kumar too have backed Dharmana. “There is no need to accept his resignation as all the GOs were issued with the collective consent of the cabinet. Dharmana has not committed any mistake,” Raghuveera Reddy said.
