HYDERABAD: Senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha member V Hanumantha Rao has wondered why the CBI is not arresting Kadapa MP YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the accused number 1, in the illegal assets case.
Addressing a press conference here on Friday, he said that after Vijay Sai Reddy's arrest, the CBI got enough evidence of the culpability of Jagan Mohan Reddy and demanded that CBI arrest Jagan without any further delay and send him to jail. Further investigation should be conducted only after that, the parliamentarian said. Rao wanted to know whether Jagan Mohan Reddy would not tamper with evidence if he is allowed to move freely. He said he would write to the agency asking it to arrest Jagan Mohan Reddy immediately.
The Congress leader took strong objection to Congress Coordination Committee failing to discuss Jagan issue on Thursday. "Jagan Mohan Reddy is criticising Sonia Gandhi every day but the party does not discuss his comments. It is very strange. All the 16 MLAs who voted against the government on the notrust motion should be disqualified," he said.
