HYDERABAD: TRS MLA K Taraka Rama Rao has urged the state government to allocate Rs 500 crore in the budget for 2012-2013 to rescue Gulf victims.

Rama Rao, along with MLA T Hareesh Rao, Rama Linga Reddy and former MLA Gampa Govardhan met the chief minister at the Secretariat on Monday.

Rama Rao said lakhs of people from the state, particularly from Telangana, were going to Gulf countries for livelihood but were facing problems due to lack of employment. Many people died and their families were in wilderness, he said and urged the government to pay Rs 3 lakh as exgratia and a job to the families of those who died in those countries. He also urged him to provide them a loan of `2 lakh under pavala vaddi scheme.
