Congress MP V.Hanumanth Rao called on AICC president Sonia Gandhi at her residence in New Delhi on Saturday and apprised her of the political situation in the state.

Rao is believed to have urged the party chief to prevail upon chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and PCC president Botcha Satyanarayana to hold a brainstorming session to discuss the reasons for the party’s dismal performance in the byelections.

The Rajya Sabha member brought disunity in the state Congress to Sonia’s notice and blamed it for the party’s electoral drubbing. He also complained to her that some leaders indulged in double dealing by encouraging their kith and kin to work for YSR Congress, and sought action against those leaders.
