Finance minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy on Wednesday made it clear that neither the chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy nor PCC chief Botcha Satyanarayana would be replaced. Ramanarayana Reddy was addressing newspersons at his residence.

He exuded confidence that the state Congress would face the 2014 polls under the leadership of Kiran Reddy and Botcha Satyanarayana only. When asked about the new proposal of total prohibition of liquor in the state, which is being harped on by Botcha, Ramanarayana Reddy replied that the Congress party did not promise to impose total prohibition in the state in its manifesto.

According to the minister, the Congress manifesto has stated that the party would impose a total ban on liquor in a phased manner only. In accordance with this promise, the state government changed the liquor policy braving the revenue loss to the exchequer, the finance minister added.
