One killed, 35 injured as bus overturns

One person died and 35 others were injured when a private bus they were travelling overturned at Dorathota village in Bheemunipatnam mandal on Friday. The deceased has been identified as Meesala Appala Raju (20).

Police said 40 people, all working in a hatchery at Bheemili were travelling in the company bus to attend work. The driver, who was in an inebriated condition, lost control of the vehicle and hit an electric pole. The bus fell into a ditch before overturning.

Out of the 35 injured, 11 sustained serious injuries and were all shifted to King George Hospital in  Visakhapatnam. However, Appala Raju was declared brought dead by the hospital.

The seriously injured include: G Rambabu (40),  K Kali Das (20), M Chittemma (28),  D Sanyasamma (29),  K Yellayamma (30),  R Kondamma (45),  B Ganga (30),  G Gowri (35),  B Demudamma (30),  N Chittemma (28) and R Paradesamma (35). The Bheemili police registered a case and are investigating.
