Chargesheet in Suri murder case

More than two months after the arrest of Bhanu Kiran alias Bhanu, the prime accused in the killing of faction warlord Maddelacheruvu Suryanarayana Reddy alias Suri, CID sleuths filed a chargesheet in the Nampally criminal court here on Wednesday.

In its 13-page chargesheet, the CID listed six persons- Bhanu Kiran, Manmohan Singh, Sulam Subbaiah, Venkata Hari Babu, Boya Venkat Ramana and Vamsidhar Reddy, as accused. It also listed 117 persons as witnesses.

In his statement before the court, one of the witnesses, Loknath, said he was the one who dropped off Bhanu at Sholapur in his car after Suri’s killing at Srinagar Colony here. Bhanu went to Loknath’s house and asked him to show the route to Warangal or Medak. He wanted to be dropped off at Chandanagar but they initially went to Zaheerabad and then to Sholapur. Bhanu, however, did not speak about the killing during the journey but before he getting into a cab, he told Loknath that he had killed a person in the city. The CID chargesheet was restricted only to the murder case.
