HYDERABAD: The state government will link all its welfare programmes to Aadhaar Cards. To facilitate that it will provide Smart Cards to all welfare programme beneficiaries so that they can avail the benefit of the programme wherever they be in the state. The new initiative will be in place in the next few months. This was disclosed by chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy during an informal chat with mediapersons in his chambers in the Assembly on Monday. He said the government would replace all ration cards with smart cards and started the exercise which would effectively end the problem of duplicate cards. By the end of March the government would complete providing Aadhaar Cards to all families in the state, he said.
