HYDERABAD: There is no resentment in the party over the choice of Rajya Sabha candidates, Telugu Desam president N Chandrababu Naidu has asserted. In a press release issued here on Tuesday, Naidu refuted the reports in a section of the media that TDP Politburo member KE Krishnamurthy was not happy with the selection of T Devender Goud.

"The Politburo, after seven-hour discussion, finalised the candidates. There is no truth in the reports that some leaders opposed the decision of the Politburo," he said. Notwithstanding his denial, there are rumours that former minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav is thinking of resigning from the TDP and joining the YSR Congress Party. Yadav was, however, unavailable to seek his version.

Sources in the YSRC Party said there was no talk in the party about Talasani joining them. Speaking at a press conference, TDP RS nominee Devender Goud refuted the allegations that TDP selected only rich persons as its candidates. "I do not think that the RS membership is an elevation or a status. It is intended to serve people," Goud remarked.
