SANGAREDDY/WARANGAL: Yet another youth committed suicide for Telangana statehood in Medak district on Wednesday, while two others are battling for life with severe burns following selfimmolation attempts.

T Yadagiri (24), a native of Rayalapur village in Rangareddy district, left his residence on Tuesday afternoon but did not return home.

His body was found hanging from a tree at Imampur village of Toopran mandal in Medak district on Wednesday morning.

Police said he recorded his dying declaration in his cell phone and placed it under the tree along with a letter urging the police to listen to the recording.

Yadagiri lost his father when he was young and since then living with his maternal uncle Ravi at Rayalapur village.

According to the police, Yadagiri is an active participant in agitations for separate Telangana state.

He was learning autorickshaw driving when he took the extreme step.

In the cell phone recording, he said he was dejected over the delay in the formation of separate Telangana state and held no one responsible for his suicide.

He reportedly urged police not to blame his family members for his extreme step.

His voice was recognised by friends and relatives.

Later, the body was handed over to his mother Lakshmi.

In another incident, scrap merchant K Uppalaiah (30) attempted suicide by setting himself ablaze in Warangal Uppalaiah, who belongs to Gopalnagar village in Bachannapeta mandal, sustained 50 percent burns and told mediapersons that the remarks made by Congress leaders, particularly chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, on suicides by Telangana youth hurt him deeply.

He wanted to prove through his sacrifice that all the suicides were genuine, he said.

His family members told police that Uppalaiah came home on Tuesday night, but went to the neighbour’s house to watch news.

Later, he returned home, poured kerosene on himself and attempted self-immolation raising ‘Jai Telangana’ slogan.

Neighbours and family members doused the fire with water and rushed him to hospital.

He was shifted to Gandhi hospital in Hyderabad for further treatment and his condition is said to be critical.

Meanwhile, the condition of N Pallavi who tried to commit suicide by setting herself ablaze in Karimnagar district on Tuesday night for separate Telangana, continues to be critical.

She has been shifted to Gandhi hospital in Hyderabad.

Doctors said she has poor chances of survival as she sustained 80 percent burns
