MACHILIPATNAM: A homeguard aspirant died of cardiac arrest while participating in selection events at district police grounds here on Wednesday morning.

Speaking to Express, Krishna district in-charge SP G Suryaprakash Rao said M Rajendra Prasad (25) of Manimeswaram village in Bantumilli mandal died of heart failure while participating in the 800- metre run.

After completing the run, Rajendra Prasad complained of dizziness and was given first aid.

Later, he felt vomiting sensation and chest pain and was shifted to Machilipatnam government general hospital where doctors declared him brought dead.

Hailing from a poor family, Rajendra Prasad was working at a private factory in Nellore.

He came to Machilipatnam on Wednesday morning to participate in the events
