Jana Reddy ridicules resignation demand

Taking a dig at the Telangana Political Joint Action Committee for demanding resignations of the ministers from the region, panchayat raj minister K Jana Reddy has wanted to know how the TJAC can make such a demand when that organisation was floated by none other than the Congress.

In an informal interaction with reporters at the Secretariat here on Monday, he said it was not appropriate for the TJAC to press for the resignations of the Telangana ministers.

As for himself, he said, he was not inclined to resign at this juncture.

“We (ministers) are ready to sacrifice our posts if our resignations can achieve the goal. But this is not the appropriate time to quit the posts. We will resign at an appropriate time,” he said.

Admitting that the TJAC’s Telangana March was a grand success, he said that all the Telangana ministers would visit Delhi soon to persuade AICC chief Sonia Gandhi to accord statehood to Telangana.

Later, Jana Reddy, along with ministers D Sridhar Babu and B Sariah, called on chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and discussed the volatile political situation in the region in the wake of the march
