Dharmana appears in court

Roads and buildings minister Dharmana Prasada Rao appeared in the special court for CBI cases here on Thursday in connection with the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s assets case.

It was the second time that the minister appeared in the court.

Dharmana had arrived at the court well before the court proceedings began. The other accused also reached the court at the same time. Dharmana sat beside IAS officer M Samuel, whose name also figured in the CBI chargesheet, and had a brief talk with him.

As the court took up the case in which he was named, Prasada Rao walked into the box meant for the accused and stood at a distance from Jagan Mohan Reddy’s financial advisor V Vijay Sai Reddy who was already standing in the box.

As the court staff called Dharmana’s name, he made his presence felt before the judge with folded hands. After marking his presence, Dharmana and the other accused in the case were told that they can leave the court hall.

REMAND EXTENDED: Meanwhile, the special court for CBI cases extended the remand of the accused in the three cases Jagan’s illegal assets case, OMC illegal iron ore mining case and Emaar scam till November 8.

Jagan Mohan Reddy, former minister Mopidevi Venkataramana Rao, industrialist Nimmagadda Prasad, IRAS officer KV Brahmananda Reddy (assets case), Sunil Reddy (Emaar scam) and Gali Janardhan Reddy and BV Sreenivas Reddy (mining case), who were lodged in the Chanchalguda prison, were produced before the court through video-conference facility.
