Enforcement Directorate probes Bramhani Steels' land deals

Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials began probing land allocation to Bramhani Steels, which belongs to Gali Janardhana Reddy, a former Karnataka minister, at Jammulamadugu 75 kms away from Kadapa, on Friday.

According to Jammulamadugu tehsildar Sivaramaiah, a two-member ED team led by assistant director T Joseph and Sankaranarayana visited the tehsildar's office and sub-registrar's office on Friday after noon.

Bangalore-based ED officials enquired about land allocation to Bramhani Steels during late chief minister YSR government's term.

They verified the cost of land, allocation and utilisation by the factory, the tehsildar said. He also said that the team visited the proposed factory site and verified ground realities.

Tight-lipped ED officials did not reveal anything to press.
