A couple committed suicide by hanging themselves in their house here on Sunday night. According to Rayachoti police, Eswara Reddy (52) and Savitramma (45), residents of Reddy colony, hanged themselves at their house depressed over their two daughters marrying persons of their choice and also from other castes much against their wishes.
Police said that Eswara Reddy was into real estate business but was bed-ridden after he met with an accident a year ago in which his spinal cord was badly injured. The couple had two daughters Jeevitha and Geetha.
A couple of months ago, the elder daughter Jeevitha eloped with a person of scheduled caste in the same locality and married him. Since then the couple were in a state of depression. Adding to their woes the younger daughter also married a person of a different caste recently
