Assembly to meet only for 5 days

The state Assembly will meet for the monsoon session for five working days beginning Monday. The session will end on Saturday. It will not meet on Thursday, the day of Vinayaka Chaturthi.

The Business Advisory Committee, which met under the chairmanship of speaker N Manohar here on Sunday, decided that issues including fee reimbursement, lack of adequate power supply to the farm sector, farmers’ grievances and drought be taken up for discussion. Neither chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy nor leader of the opposition N Chandrababu Naidu turned up for the meeting. The BAC decided that a special session should be called for a discussion on SC and ST Sub-plan. The speaker announced that BR Amedkar’s statue  would be erected on the Assembly premises.
