Several political parties  celebrated the Hyderabad State Liberation Day at their respective party offices here on Monday.

The leaders, who hoisted the national flag on the occasion, called upon their party cadre to rededicate themselves to the all-round of development of the erstwhile Hyderabad state.

The state Congress committee too observed the day but chose to call it the Hyderabad State Merger Day. PCC president B Satyanarayana  hoisted the national flag at Gandhi Bhavan. Deputy chief minister Damodar Rajanarasimha and several Telangana ministers, MLAs and MLCs took part in the programme. Freedom fighters from the Telangana regon were felicitated on the occasion.

Telugu Desam chief N Chandrababu Naidu hoisted the tricolour at his party office and called upon the party cadre to get ready for a movement for redress of the problems of the people. He said the Telangana region was still beset with several problems and the Congress government was neglecting its responsibilities. Party MLAs E Dayakar Rao, M Narsimlu, A Revanth Reddy and several other leaders and a large number of Telangana actvists attended the event.

The Lok Satta Party also observed the day at its office. Party president and MLA N.Jayaprakash Narayan appealed to the central and state governments to take speedy steps to address the backwardness of the Telangana region.

The TRS has demanded that the state government celebrate the Hyderabad Liberation Day officially. Party leader Nayani Narasimha Reddy made this demand while speaking after hoisting the national flag at Telangana Bhavan. Party MLAs paid tributes to Telangana Martyrs at Gun Park opposite the Assembly.

City unit of BJP organised a big procession from Babu Jagjivan Ram statue to Sardar Patel statue where party state president G Kishan Reddy hoisted the national falg.

The Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC) observed the day at its office at the New MLA Quarters.
