The Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) declared here on Monday that it will take part in the Telangana March on September 30 in pursuance of a call given by the Telangana Joint Action Committee (TJAC).

Speaking to reporters at the Assembly, TRS MLA T Harish Rao said they would make the programme a success. "If the state government wants to suppress the movement by registering cases against T activists, they can, but it would only help bring more people into the movement," Rao said.

He demanded that the government officially celebrate Hyderabad liberation day and pass a resolution on Telangana issue in the Assembly. He dismissed chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy's comments on adopting a resolution in the Assembly and said if it passes a resolution, it would help in bringing pressure on the Centre to take a decision on Telangana statehood.
