Medical college likely in Chittoor

Mines and geology minister Galla Aruna Kumari presented a set of new silk vasthram, on Wednesday, on behalf of the state government, to Lord Sri Varasiddhi Vinayaka, on occasion of annual Brahmotsavam, slated to begin here on Thursday.

The minister and local MLA Ravi along with temple officials came in a procession carrying the vasthram and presented them to the Lord.

 Speaking on the occasion, Aruna Kumari said the proposal to set up a medical and engineering college by the temple management, for improving education in the area, will be sent to the government for approval. She said the temple management had proposed to set up an engineering college, a few years back but it had not seen the light of the day for some reasons.
