Old Tirumala photos a big draw

TTD chairman K Bapiraju accompanied by board member L Siva Prasad inaugurated the flower, photo exhibition and media centre on Tirumala, in connection with Brahmotsavams here on Wednesday.

The chairman expressed his pleasure at the excellent arrangements for the expo at Kalyana vedika. He said the mythological themes taken from Hindu epics, especially Ghatotkacha, Bheema-Bakasura, Satyaloka-Vaikuntha-Kailasha, Lanka Dahanam, Gopika Vastrapaharanam were a feast to the eyes and commended the prowess of the artists.  Apart from this, Bonsai plants, animal figures carved out of fruits and vegetables stood out as a special attraction. Meanwhile, at the photo section, on display were rare photographs of Tirumala. Viewers were taken on a journey into the past, with old photos of Tirumala evoking nostalgia.

Addressing media persons after inaugurating the Media centre at the Ram Bhageecha guesthouse, he thanked the media for giving coverage about the Brahmotsavams. “The media has a vital role to play in disseminating news, since it can reach all the corners of the world”, he added.
