United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Chairperson Sonia Gandhi is expected to meet Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) chief K Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday in a bid to find a resolution to the Telangana statehood issue.

Sources say that Andhra Pradesh Governor ESL Narasimhan will be holding a separate meet with Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde, Finance Minister P Chidambaram and Defence Minister AK Antony.

Narasimhan met Sonia on Thursday to discuss the matter.

Congress sources say that a resolution on the matter is likely next week. Sources add that the UPA is likely to give in to the TRS's demand in order to win its support in the region.
