TD protests at CM house

Demanding seven-hours of continuous power supply to the farmers in rural areas, the Telugu Desam MLAs staged a dharna in front of chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy’s chamber on the Assembly premises here on Friday.

The legislature affairs minister Sridhar Babu tried to pacify the MLAs who demanded the chief minister’s reply on the matter. Later, Kiran Kumar Reddy held talks with the MLAs and assured them of lifting the power cuts in rural areas within two days. He also assured them of solving the problems arising in the import of gases from other countries.

The chief minister also said that he would examine and take the required steps to waive power arrears of the SC colonies in the state. Telugu Desam MLAs Errabalii Dayakar, Sandra Venkata Veeraiah, P Kesav, M Narsimhulu, T Nageswara Rao and others took part in the dharna.
