Home minister P Sabita Indra Reddy has requested senior Congress leader and Telangana advocate K Kesava Rao to prevail upon the Telangana Joint Action Committee to postpone its Telangana March from September 30 to a later date.

Sabita called on Rao at the latter’s residence in Banajara Hills here on Sunday to make the request, saying that the Ganesh Nimajjanam, scheduled for  September 29, would continue even on the next day  and holding the march on September 30 would create problems for the devotees.

Rao was, however, sceptical about the possibility of  TJAC leaders paying a heed to his suggestion as they had already started preparations for the march.

Yet,sources said, in the wake of the persistent appeal from the home minister, Kesava Rao decided to  persuade the TJAC to postpone the march.
