Farmer kills 2 rivals over water sharing

A farmer allegedly killed two of his neighbours  accusing them of obstructing him from irrigating his land with HLC waters in Kuravalli village of Bommanahalli mandal on Wednesday. The accused  B Venkatesh has a running feud with his two neighbours for some time now over sharing of  HLC canal waters.  Venkatesh, who went to his fields on Wednesday had an heated argument with his rival Jaffar (45) and axed him to death.

Later he attacked another farmer Maheswar Reddy, another neighbour and also killed him with the axe. Venkatesh also attacked another woman Ramalaxmi when she tried to raise an alarm.

Leaving the three in a pool of blood, Venkatesh tried to run away. However, the villagers caught him and handed over to the police.

Ramalaxmi was shifted to a hospital in Bellary, where her condition was said to be critical. Rayadurgam CI T Reddeppa, Bommanahalli, SI Sekhar visited the spot and sent the bodies for postmortem.
