2 NALSAR students drown at sea

A pleasure trip to the Rushikonda beach ended in a tragedy for a group of final year LLB students of NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad.

All the students entered the sea and were soon dragged deep into the sea by a strong wave.

While one student Tej Kumar drowned at sea, another boy Anil Kumar (22), who was rescued by fishermen, was shifted to a corporate hospital where he was declared brought dead.

A girl-student, who also ventured into the sea, was rescued by fishermen and her condition is said to stable.

Meanwhi le, the PM Palem police are trying to retrieve the body of Tej Kumar.

The police said nine students of NALSAR came to the city on Friday morning by a train and were staying at Waltair Club at Siripuram area in the city.

In the evening, they went to the beach and ventured into the sea.

Sources said the students went into the sea despite local fishermen at the beach warning them against doing so.

CI of PM Palem, K Venkata Rao said Anil Kumar was a native of Kalyandurg and Tej Kumar hailed from Rayadurg of Anantapur district.

 However, the police did not disclose the identity of the girl.
