Dakkili police arrested one person on Wednesday and seized 4,000 gelatin sticks used for blasting mines from him. According to sources, the explosives were being carried from Burugumandala village in Sadum mandal in Chittoor district to Gattupalle village in Jaladanki mandal of Nellore district in a lorry. During vehicle checking, police intercepted the van in which they were being transported and arrested its driver, P Sunil, and seized the explosives.
It is said that a owner of stone-crushing unit had booked the material for blasting purpose. A case has been registered by police and further investigation is on.
