Dacoits target Shirdi bus

Miscreants intercepted the Hyderabad-Shirdi Volvo bus belonging to the AP State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) at Bhoom in Maharashtra and snatched away four bags of passengers. No one was injured in the incident.

RTC officials lodged a complaint at the Bhoom police station. Around 6 pm Sunday, the Volvo bus with about 25 passengers to Shirdi. As it reached Bhoom, a small town and headquarters of Bhoom Taluka in Osmanabad district, Maharashtra, at 2 am, the driver noticed some boulders on the road,” said C Vinod, Regional Manager (RM), APSRTC, Ranga Reddy District.

“He got down from the bus and as he was trying to remove them, three masked men rushed to the spot. The driver got into the bus and rushed it from the place but in the meantime, the dacoits snatched at least four bags of passengers from the side boot of the bus,” said the Regional Manager. 

Repeat act

It was second incident in a month. On March 28, the AP Tourism Volvo bus coming from Shirdi to Hyderabad was attacked by unknown persons at a village in Solapur district of Maharashtra.
