Botcha hints at Congress-YSRC pact

PCC chief Botcha Satyanarayana said, “There is no need for the Congress to forge alliance with any political party. However, if any party comes forward for a tie-up with us by accepting our principles and respecting our party chief Sonia Gandhi, we are ready to join hands with that party.”

After AICC emissary Vayalar Ravi, it is now the turn of PCC chief Botcha Satyanarayana not to rule out the possibility of an electoral understanding between Congress and YSRC in the 2014 polls.

Dropping enough hints of it, Botcha said, “There is no need for the Congress to forge alliance with any political party. However, if any party comes forward for a tie-up with us by accepting our principles and respecting our party chief Sonia Gandhi, we are ready to join hands with that party.”

A YSR Congress leader, who did not want to be named, said Jagan Mohan Reddy will have an alliance with the UPA after the elections and not before.

“I am sure it will be a post-poll alliance,” he said.

However, Botcha, addressing the media at Gandhi Bhavan here on Friday on the eve of his party’s victory in the first phase of cooperative elections, did not rule of truck with YSRC
