The purpose of YSRC leader Sharmila’s padayatra is to get back to power to protect their illegally amassed wealth and not to do any good to the people as being claimed, senior Congress leader Palvai Govardhan Reddy has said.
Speaking to mediapersons here on Friday, he said people are coming in large numbers only to see her as she is the daughter of former chief minister YS Rajasekhara Reddy and nothing more.
Such meetings will not get votes, he said.
Crediting Congress victory in cooperative elections to the cadre rather than leaders, Palvai said Congress winning a large number of cooperative bodies in Telangana region does not mean that there is no Telangana sentiment.
“It is very much there and only UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi can give the Telangana state,” he said.
