Manmohan Singh coming today

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh will arrive in Hyderabad on Sunday to take stock of the situation in the aftermath of twin bomb blasts here.

According to sources, the prime minister will arrive by a special flight at Begumpet airport here on Sunday morning and from there he will drive straight to the site of the bomb blasts. Singh will visit the hospitals where the injured are being treated besides taking a briefing from chief minister Kiran Reddy, sources said.

The Central government came under sharp attack in the Parliament on Friday, with the Opposition saying that the state government did not act on the alerts issued by the Centre.

Strongly condemning the blasts, the prime minister had said soon after the incident that those responsible for the ‘dastardly’ act would not go scot free.

He had appealed to the public to remain calm and maintain peace. He sanctioned Rs 2 lakh each to next of the kin of those killed in the blasts and `50,000 each to those seriously injured from the PM’s Relief Fund.
