A woman murdered her liquor-addicted husband as he attempted to rape his own daughter on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday.
Proddatur police said Ummadisetti Subbarayudu (38), a carpenter, had been living in Dwaraka Nagar within Gopavaram panachayat limits in the outskirts of the Proddatur town. Subbarayudu, addicted to liquor for long, had been allegedly sexually abusing his own daughter for seven months. His wife, Venkateswaramma, had warned him several times against his heinous behaviour but he continued to assault the 14-year-old Class VIII student sexually quite often. Subbarayudu, as usual, came home drunk and tried to assault his daughter.
