Pachyderms kill farmer

A 40-year-old farmer died when a group of elephants attacked him in a village in Karnataka, bordering Gudipali mandal of Kuppam constituency, on Sunday.

According to information, a group of six elephants, which came from Hosur forest area in Tamil Nadu, entered Kuppam area and were moving in the forests on the Andhra Pradesh and Karntaka border, damaging the crops. On Sunday, the pachyderms attacked P Chalapathy, a native of Guntur village, who he came in their way. The farmer, who received grievous injuries, died.
