Chiranjeevi flays government on power hike

It is now the turn of Union minister for tourism Chiranjeevi to attack the state government over the proposed hike in power tariff.

Talking to mediapersons in Delhi on Thursday, Chiranjeevi disapproved of state government’s plans to increase power charges in the state. He felt the tariff would have a negative impact on Congress party’s electoral prospects.

He defended his close aide and endowments minister C Ramachandraiah’s recent criticism of the chief minister’s nod for the proposal. “Ramachandraiah has done nothing wrong.  As it is not good for the party to increase power charges at a time when elections are just one year away, the minister asked Botcha to reconsider the decision by keeping party interests in mind. I agree with this,” Chiranjeevi said.

Reacting to Akbaruddin Owaisi’s arrest, the Union minister said MIM leader was now paying the price for his inflammatory speech.
