Umesh seeks case transfer to CID court

Senior IPS officer and chairman of the Godavari Valley Development Authority Umesh Kumar filed a memo before the chief metropolitan magistrate’s court here on Wednesday, seeking a transfer of the hearing of the case against him back to the CID court.

 Umesh Kumar is facing charges of of forgery.

 The memo of Umesh Kumar, who personally appeared in the court, said that the CMM court took up the hearing of the case after one of the accused, T Sunil Reddy, was granted pardon.

 WIth the High Court quashing the pardon, the defence wanted the case to be transferred back to the CID court.

 The matter was posted for hearing on January 23.

 Umesh Kumar is accused of using a forged letterhead of Raja Sabha MA Khan to write to the Union home ministry by allegedly projecting IPS officer V Dinesh Reddy in bad light to stop him from becoming the director- general of police.
