CPI protest against excise policy on 1st July

The CPI will be taking up a statewide protest against the new excise policy on Monday.

Party state secretary K Narayana called upon CPI cadre, members of its front organisations and people to participate in large numbers. The CPI has been opposing the new excise policy, which added 617 new shops to the existing 6,596. It demanded immediate removal of belt shops, withdrawal of permit room permission, action against political parties and permission for liquor sale only from 11 am to 5 pm.
