Telangana decision after Digvijay submits report: Governor

Governor ESL Narasimhan has said that the Union government will take a decision on the statehood to Telangana, basing on the report submitted by AICC general secretary and in-charge for Congress affairs in AP Digvijay Singh. The Centre is keen to resolve the issue, the governor said.

Speaking to reporters at the Roads and Buildings guest house here Monday, he said Digvijay Singh is eliciting opinions of the parties and he came to the state in this regard. In democracy anyone can express opinion on any issue, he said. ‘But, I have no information regarding division of the state.’

“I met the PM and other top brass in the government and not submitted any report on Telangana issue. As you are saying that I have submitted a report, you should tell me about the report,” the Governor added. The State and the Central governments acted in time to rescue the pilgrims in Uttarakhand.

Earlier, he along with his family members reached Rajahmundry by Spicejet flight at 10.30 am and left for Hyderabad by 2.30 pm flight. He immersed the ashes of his mother-in-law in the river Godavari at Pushkara Ghat.
