Maoists gunned down a tribal, Madivi Bhagat, (38), branding him an police informer, at Vijayapuri Colony in Venkatapuram mandal on the district Tuesday night.
Maoists shot Bhagat, who had surrendered to police recently, in the chest and head from a close range . They also left a note stating that the tribal was killed as he was a police informer.
The Maoists also mentioned in the letter that Bhagat passed on important information to the police which led to the killing of nine Maoists in an encounter in Chhattisgarh on April 16.
