Days after the Congress leaders from Telangana region held a massive public meeting in the state capital to drum up support for separate statehood, the Samaikyandhra JAC now want to stage a similar show of strength.

Samaikyandhra JAC convenor and Congress minister S Sailajanath on Thursday said that they would hold a massive public meeting in Anantapur in the second week of July in support of a unified state. ‘’We want to show to the Centre the intensity of the unified AP movement in Seemandhra region,’’ Sailajanath told reporters at a press conference here.

The massive public meeting would be followed by meetings across the region including Hyderabad, he said. ‘’The proposal of Rayala Telangana is meaningless. All the three regions of the state should be developed equally,’’ he said.
