Mamata Banerjee, the West Bengal Chief Minister, has called up YSRC honorary president YS Vijayalakshmi and reportedly invited her to join the proposed Federal Front, which is being formed as an alternative to the UPA and NDA.

In  phone conversation, Mamata shared with Vijayalakshmi her views on the present political scenario in the country. She reportedly said the UPA was planning to go for early elections around November along with Assembly elections for five states.

“Lok Sabha elections are likely to be held in November. So, the possibility of like-minded parties coming together should be explored. TMC, YSRC and other regional parties can come together for the polls,” Mamata is quoted as saying.
