14-yr-old Girl Raped, Thrashed

A 14-year-old girl was raped by a 25-year-old man in Chandapur village under Narayankhed police station limits a week ago. The incident came to light only on Saturday, when the parents of the girl lodged a complaint with the Narayankhed police.

According to the information, the girl was alone in her house on July 7 (Sunday), when the accused Madiga Kasiram entered the house and raped her. He also thrashed her. Later, he threatened to kill the girl if she reveled about the incident to her parents or anyone.

For the past one week, the sudden change in the baehaviour of the girl has been perplexed the parents. After lot of cajoling, she finally revelled to them what had happened.

In fact the girl, who was studying eight class in a school at Anantasagar village, near her village, as there was no high school at her native place, had dropped her studies earlier, after she was repeatedly harassed by Kasiram.

Police, who registered a case, sent the victim to Narayakhed Government Hospital for medical tests. Search is on for the accused, who is at large at present.
